Disability Leave

Disability Leave

Disability coverage gives you and your family an important source of income replacement if illness or injury keeps you out of work for a sustained period. You have two types of coverage: Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD). Other disability income you're eligible to receive will reduce your benefit amount (see Disability Income Offsets below for the full list of offset sources).

Sedgwick (AbsenceOne) provides your disability coverage.

  • Short-Term Disability

You get short-term disability (STD) coverage automatically through a salary continuation plan, at no cost to you. Coverage applies if a non-occupational illness or injury keeps you out of work for more than 7 calendar days. If Sedgwick (AbsenceOne) approves your claim, STD can replace 100% of your base pay for up to 26 weeks, based on your years of service with a Publicis company.

  • Supplemental Long-Term Disability

To supplement your company-provided LTD, you may purchase additional coverage:

    • Level One: Benefit equal to 20% of your base pay amount up to $300,000 (for total coverage of 60% of base pay), with a maximum combined monthly benefit of $15,000.

    • Level Two: Benefit equal to 60% of your base pay exceeding $300,000, with a maximum combined monthly benefit of $25,000.

  • Disability Income Offsets

Any disability income you're eligible to receive from other sources reduces your disability coverage benefits. These sources include: Social Security disability benefits (including amounts for which your dependents may qualify because of your disability), Workers' Compensation, Occupational Disease Law, "no-fault" auto insurance, state-mandated benefits, and any other company-provided disability income benefits.
